NEW MEXICO PAIN ADVISORY COUNCIL

The New Mexico Pain Advisory Council was created by the NM Legislature in 2005.  Its members are appointed by the Governor, and include representatives from the health care licensing boards, health provider associations and the University of New Mexico as well as health care advocates and consumers.  The Council’s mandate is to review current pain management practices in the state and national pain management standards, and to institute and coordinate statewide efforts to educate providers and consumers about pain management.
